Challenge
High energy costs and uncomfortably warm office spaces.
Solution
We adapted the existing ventilation system to operate on demand, adding cooling with domestic water to ensure the building operates more energy efficiently. The result is a controlled and balanced indoor climate, which improves employee well-being and reduces energy costs. Energy savings reached up to 40% thanks to more efficient use of thermal energy (so-called district heating) and reduced use of air conditioners. The payback period of the investment is 2-3 years.
Challenge
There was no ventilation in the house.
Solution
We built a comprehensive smart and needs-based ventilation system with two air intakes – one air intake on the north side, the other on the south side through a solar air heating collector.
The temperature difference between the north and south air intakes is 30-40 degrees. CO2 conditions are ensured in an energy-efficient manner.
Challenge
The goal of the complete renovation was to achieve the most energy-efficient solution for the house's ventilation, heating, and cooling, using smart renewable energy solutions.
Solution
The complete solution combines air-to-water heat pumps and a smart ventilation control system, ensuring efficient energy use. In addition, the building produces electricity from solar energy, and the heat generated by the solar air heating system is directed to heating and domestic water heating. The result is minimal energy consumption for residents and a healthy indoor climate, which increases both comfort and energy efficiency.
Intelligently controlled airflows
Our innovative ventilation system is designed to maximize the use of solar energy to preheat the supply air. When creating the solution, we take into account the specifics of the building’s facade and location in relation to the weather maps to achieve the highest energy efficiency.
Two air intakes are used in the ventilation system:
- The south-facing air intake supplies the system with preheated air, which is collected from the solar air heating collector or from under the solar panels.
- The north-facing air intake ensures natural cooling.
The temperature difference between the north and south air intakes can reach up to 40 degrees, which reduces the need for additional energy. The entire system is controlled by modern automation, which optimizes work processes and ensures smooth operation.
Minimum energy costs
Unlike traditional ventilation solutions that require a lot of energy, the Solar Smart AHU is designed to use energy efficiently. The solution is based on the idea that the heating needs of the ventilation system are covered to the greatest extent possible with locally produced energy.
- Solar air collectors and solar panels provide a preheater for the ventilation system under favorable conditions.
- Effective heat recovery keeps additional energy consumption to a minimum.
As a result, electricity costs and, under favorable conditions, the building’s heating costs are reduced.

The main function of a solar air heating collector is to produce heat energy on site and stabilize the indoor climate of a building. It is particularly suitable for buildings with limited space for solar energy generating elements.
A solar air heating collector is mounted on the wall of a building and directs the heat collected from solar radiation directly into the ventilation system or rooms, reducing energy costs. This system is more efficient than PV panels in producing heat: to achieve the same efficiency, several PV panels would have to be installed.
The appearance of the collector can be customized to match the color of the building’s facade, matching the building’s architecture.

The main purpose of PV panels is to generate electricity, but the excess heat generated underneath them can be used for preheating and ventilation if necessary, if technically feasible.
This solution is suitable for buildings that have the option of installing PV panels on either the facade or roof and whose priority is to cover the building’s electricity consumption in an energy-efficient manner.
